Welcome to English class. It's always my goal to help my students achieve success and to grow as learners. I think it's cool when someone discovers an idea they never thought of before or when they learn something new. This goes for me as well, since there are times when I learn just as much from my students as they learn from me.  I know English can be intimidating for some people, and I understand it doesn't come easy for everyone. With this in mind, I try to make my classroom an inviting and comfortable place where people can feel free to share their ideas. Students who work hard and give their best effort do well.
I grew up in Lansing, Michigan and graduated from Lansing Eastern High School. I earned a Bachelor's Degree from Michigan State University and two Master's Degrees, one from Saginaw Valley State University and one from the University of Michigan-Flint. I've taught English in Marlette for twenty-three years, and I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing.
I live in North Branch with my wife Cheryl of 30 years. We have three children: Ryan (25), Jamie (22), and Adam (18). We also have two cats and a dog
.
My favorite activities are hiking, biking, and, of course, reading.
